Values
We are proud that Christ's values are at the heart of all that
we say, do and teach. The values below are taught and used in
the context of the children's every day life in and around
school. Where children and families are not of a Christian
background, there is no conflict as our values are recognised as an
ideal framework on which to base the way we live - in harmony with
others and the world around us.
Each month our value will be introduced in a whole school assembly
and will be brought to meaning through a story or event in
context. The children will then be involved in discussions on
its relevance at school, with friends and with their family.
This can then be brought into the context of working hard at
school, getting on with friends, appropriate attitudes and
behaviour, both at school and at home. We find that by
embedding our values and the type of language used to explore our
feelings and experiences, children are increasingly able to
articulate their feelings and empathise with those of others.
Displays around the school are used as reminders to all that these
are what underpin all that we do to promote positive attitudes and
practices. Values are communicated with parents through our
school newsletter.
Below is a list of the values we uphold and teach on a two-year
