Information & Communication Technology

Information and Communication Technology (IT) forms an integral part of learning throughout the school. All computers in school have Broadband Internet access and each computer is networked, allowing staff and children to access their files from any workstation.

Each class has at least one computer and every classroom has an Interactive Whiteboard, enabling the children to use IT across the curriculum.

Funding from the National Grid for Learning and considerable fund raising from the PTFA have enabled us to purchase computers, a projector and a laser printer for the IT Suite, giving teachers the opportunity to teach IT skills with the whole class.

A range of software is installed including a word processor, ‘logo’ programming language, a graphics package and a data handling program. Each Key Stage has software relevant to the age of the children and they all have access to educational Internet software. This software is also available to class computers via the network.

A comprehensive scheme of work has been implemented throughout the school ensuring continuity and progression.
