Charges for School Activities

Charges for school activities organised by the school fall generally into three categories:

a) Visits organised by Class Teachers in pursuance of a topic or project.
b) Residential visits of a longer duration.
These visits may last up to 5 days depending upon venue.
c) Music tuition from Peripatetic Music Teachers

In order to meet the costs of school visits we will have to ask parents to contribute the major part of the expenditure. We will endeavour to keep the costs of educational visits to an affordable level and will do our best to give parents as much notice as possible of the date and costs of all visits. However, if we do not receive sufficient financial support we may have to cancel the visit.

Charges for Swimming Tuition
The children in the Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 attend swimming lessons at the LEA swimming pool in Hollybush Lane, Hereford. The school is levied a significant charge for this service and in order for this to continue we ask that parents help towards this charge. There will also be a charge for the transport to and from the swimming pool.

Charges for Music Tuition
When parents elect for their children to receive music tuition in string or woodwind instruments the school will levy a fee based on the actual cost of the tuition. These fees cannot be remitted and parents will be expected to pay for the tuition on a termly basis at the beginning of each term.

Remissions of fees
Where the parents of a pupil are in receipt of income support or family credit the Governing Body will endeavour to remit the full or part cost of any residential activity that is organised for the pupil if the activity is deemed to have taken place within school hours.

In other circumstances there may be cases of family hardship which make it difficult for pupils to take part in particular activities for which a charge is made. Parents are invited to apply in confidence for the remission of charges in part or full. Authorisation or remission will be made by the Head Teacher in consultation with the Chairman of Governors.
