Children
with Special Educational Needs
The school has a well developed policy of response to those
children that have special educational needs. Children with
special educational needs will be assisted through a
structured programme of help given by the class teachers
and the special needs coordinator. Children who need
special help will be referred to Herefordshire Learning
Support Services for assessment and further help. If
further assistance is required help will be sought from the
Educational Psychological Service and other appropriate
agencies.
The school follows the county 'Code of Practice' with
regard to the manner in which it works with children with
special educational needs.
Parents will be informed and included in all decisions
regarding the special needs provisions for their children.
As the school is an old building there are limited
facilities for children with physical special needs and any
application by parents of children with physical special
needs will be considered in relation to the child's access
to the building.
