Sex
Education
Sex education is dealt with generally under the heading of
Health Education. Basic instruction regarding puberty,
changes at puberty and menstruation for the girls are
taught to the year 6 children during the summer term as
part of a specific topic on good health. The school nurse
assists in this teaching. Parents are given the opportunity
to discuss the content of the lessons with the headteacher
and class teacher at an evening meeting held during the
summer term before the children are taught.
