I have worked at St James for just over four years.
What do you do?
I work as an S.E.N. teaching assistant throughout the school. I also run the breakfast and after school clubs at St James.
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I enjoy working with children of all ages using a variety of fun, multi-sensory ways. It is also enjoyable to see children at breakfast and after school clubs, playing, relaxing and enjoying themselves. I meet children I wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to work with during the day.
What do you enjoy the least about your job?
Paper work and photocopying! Running out of milk or crumpets during breakfast club! The children aren’t very happy with me if this happens.
Do you ever have to come back to school at night?
Sometimes, I like to make sure I have everything ready for the next day.
Tell us about your family.
I live with my partner Ian. I have two brothers who are called David and Stephen and a sister who is a fabulous swimmer called Crystal. I have a large, fluffy pet cat called ‘fat cat’ who lives with my parents.
What is your favourite food?
I enjoy a good curry, anything with pasta or Ian’s mums roast dinners. Yummy!
Where is your favourite place?
Anywhere that is sunny, warm and outdoors with family and friends.
How would you like to be remembered?
I would like to be remembered as a positive and approachable person who helped children to enjoy their experience through school life.
Thank you Miss Cope
