We would like to
launch a new element to our school newsletter, when we
introduce you to a member of our school team. In this first
of this series we focus on:
Mrs Stewart, Clerical Assistant and Staff
Governor
How
long have you worked at St James?
I
have worked at St James for 7 years and 4 months.
What
do you do all day?
I help Mrs
Brassington in the school office where we look after all
the school records on paper and on the computer. I am one
of the First Aiders who look after the children if they are
hurt or sick. I meet and speak to lots of visitors in
reception and on the telephone. I order lunches for the
children and help organise transport for school trips. I
help produce the newsletter and help the teaching staff.
The list is endless, we are always very
busy!
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I enjoy working
with the children in the school; it is a happy environment,
and meeting so many people, parents and
visitors.
What do you enjoy the least about your
job?
It’s
always very sad when our Year 6 children leave school at
the end of the Summer Term.
Do you ever have to come back to school at night?
As I am a Staff
Governor I come back to school to attend School Governor
Meetings.
Tell us about your family.
I’m married
to Clive and I have two daughters. My eldest daughter
Victoria is 20 years old and is currently at Bath
University studying for a Masters in Mathematics. My
youngest daughter Charlotte is now at the Hereford Art
College studying Art and Design and is also at the Hereford
Sixth Form College studying History.
What is your favourite food?
As a treat I enjoy
Chinese or Cantonese food.
Where is your favourite place?
I like to visit my
parents who live most of the year in Spain.
How would you like to be remembered?
I would like to be
remembered as someone who cared about the children and
staff at St James.
Thank you Mrs Stewart!
