Timetable Changes

As you may know we have made some slight changes to the timings inside the school day. Assembly has been moved to 10.20 a.m. which is giving us a calmer and prompt start to learning at the beginning of the day.

Visit from Nomad

On Tuesday 22nd June Hereford Baptist Church organised a visit from Nomad, who are a team of FA qualified Football Coaches. The team came to St James with a Panna-Football Cage to coach our KS2 children in various different types of football. The children really enjoyed learning new skills including ball control, quick thinking and teamwork. There was also an opportunity for the children to look at moral issues, prejudice, citizenship and challenge opinions and misconceptions using the activities to help stimulate discussion and learning.

Would your family enjoy introducing someone from another country to your way of life?
There are international students from all over the world at universities in the UK: they speak English and most are in their 20's.They would love to spend a weekend sharing your family life in order to understand more about the UK. You could have fun introducing them to British food, customs, your local community and area; and you could learn about their country and culture. This is an opportunity to make friends across international boundaries. Geography comes alive, and afterwards, any news bulletin about your guest's country will have much more meaning.

Ryman Stationery for Schools

“Stationery for Schools” from Ryman helps families to support their schools by providing them with access to much needed stationery supplies. For every £5 spent a 50p Ryman voucher is earned for our school. These vouchers can be collected and exchanged for credit for the school to spend with Ryman. The address of the nearest Ryman store is 19 Eign Gate, Hereford. Also when shopping on line your vouchers will be automatically generated and sent with your order, then please give these to St James and make sure you tell your friends!

Competition winners

There were fantastic inventive vegetable monsters and imaginative edible necklaces on display at the fete. Mrs Weston as judge had a difficult time choosing winners. They were: Infant edible necklace – Amelia Adamson class 2 and Molly Davies class 2. Junior edible necklace – Jessica Evans class 3. Infant vegetable monster – Lola Williams class 2. Junior vegetable monster – Ben Jenkins class 4. Molly Davies, Joint infant edible necklace competition winner with a chocolate coin map of Africa with chocolate footballs as the beads.

Well done to everyone else who took part including Florence Coore, Heidi Moss, Lucy Caldwell Martin, Lola Cook, Freddie Adamson, Archie Laws, Otto Wye, Raimi Wye, Saskia Brechtmann, Liberty Jones, Lola Williams, Poppy Kedward, Daisy Kedward, Rees Newton-Sealey, Josh Williams, Izzy Moss, Rebecca Stacey, Adam Milewski, Michal class 3, Jasmine Scott, Conor Duhig, Molly Kedward, Cam Smith and Molly Matthews.

Class R won the the infant bunting competition. The junior winner was class 3. The winner of the treasure hunt was Millie Boucher. The winner of ‘guess the number of sweets in a jar’ was Molly Kedward. There were 234 in the jar and the closest guess was 255.

The child winner of the ladder game was Bed Craddock with a score of 1700 and the adult winner was Chris Reynolds.

Summer Fete

Recycle School Uniforms!

Please bring into school any unwanted good quality school uniform that your child may have outgrown, as the P.T.F.A. would like to sell them at a stall at our School Fete on the 19th June. Buying recycled uniform is easier on the pocket and eco-friendly!

If you shop online and haven’t tried it do have a look and shop through easyfundraising.org.uk. You are bound to find most of your favourite shops here because you can choose from over 2,000 of the UK's best-known retailers including many popular names such as Amazon, Next, Argos, John Lewis and HMV.

You can nominate St James CE Primary School to receive a contribution from the shops you have bought from. It really is easy to do and on average the school will receive 3% of what you spend. Tell everyone you know – relatives, friends. Make sure you choose St James Hereford as there are several PTFAs with similar names.

NB It doesn't cost a penny extra to shop and raise funds for the PTFA using this site, and as many retailers now give extra discounts when you buy online, you can even save money!
